After a long period of protracted disagreement which led to the existence of factions within the Estate Rent and Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) in Lagos, peace has seemingly returned to the association.

This follows reconciliatory moves which led to the unification elections of the body held recently in Lagos. Speaking after the election, the national president ERCAAN, Mr. Godwin Alenkhe described the occasion as an historic moment. While referencing the strategic position and importance of the Lagos chapter to the association, called the final outcome “triumph over challenges.”

The election which was relatively peaceful, thus aligned with the assertion of the national president that peace has genuinely returned within the fold with the emergence of a new state chapter chairman. Mr. Godwin Oluwasegun Demech in his acceptance speech as the new state chapter supremo, thanked members for entrusting him with the leadership of the association and pledged to prioritize stakeholder engagement in the vision to reposition ERCAAN.

Members reacting, applauded the outcome and also agreed that it marks a new beginning for the association in Lagos State. Also at the event was the Lagos State Ministry of Housing represented by Mrs. Onyema Sandra. She praised the national leadership of ERCAAN as well as the board of trustees for their efforts to ensure that unity returned to the chapter and sanity prevails. In her words “I see oneness and togetherness, it is clear that the association has come to stand”. Stakeholders are hopeful that there would be no further problems in the future.
