    ENFORCEMENT RAID: ERCAAN Meets Lagos State Ministry Of Housing.

    The Estate, Rent and Commission Agents Association of Nigeria (ERCAAN) has met with the Ministry of Housing on enforcement and raids against unregistered agents in the state.

    LED by National President of the Association Hon. Godwin Alenkhe, the delegation included the chapter State Chairman Hon. Godwin Demechi, alongside BOT Chairman Elder Sunny Yemi Adenowo and other national and state executives.

    The body drew the attention of the Ministry—to LASRERA’s recent clampdown on unregistered agents recently, which unfortunately affected one of its members in Owutu Agric Area who it was made known was duly registered under the former LASRETRAD scheme. The national president following that event called for the inclusion of ERCAAN be in future enforcements to avoid future reoccurrence and also to make for greater effectiveness. He also used the event to introduced the newly elected state officers.

    Hon Shadare Akanni Kayode James (representing the Permanent Secretary) thanked the delegation and appealed to members to complete their registration with LASRERA and the Ministry of Housing.
    The Director of Legal Services also urged ERCAAN members to obey government directives on agency fees and tenancy agreements.

    Responding, BOT Chairman Elder Sunny Yemi Adenowo affirmed that ERCAAN is ready to comply immediately the new tenancy bill when signed into law. The meeting ended with the delegation taking group photograph with their host.
